The Korana River
The Korana is a left tributary of the Kupa, about 72 kilometres long. It flows through Karlovac County and Slavonia, and its waters are particularly known for fishing and kayaking. Near Veljun, the Korana creates calm bays and shallow rapids.
Forests and surroundings
The forests of Kordun are rich in species — from sessile oak to beech and spruce. These forests provide a home to numerous animals and birds, and trails through them invite you to walks and hiking.
Rastoke
Rastoke is a settlement that is part of the city of Slunj, known for its authentic stone houses along the Krivaja waterfall. Often called the 'Little Venice', Rastoke is one of the most visited places in Croatia.
Slunj
Slunj is a town on the Korana River, known for the Krivaja waterfalls and its historic centre. The town has museums, churches and numerous cafés, and the surrounding area offers excellent recreation opportunities.
Lapovac
Lapovac is a small village near Slunj, surrounded by forests and fields. A quiet place typical of the Kordun countryside.
Točak
Točak is a small settlement in the Korana valley, known for its peace and untouched nature. Residents are engaged in agriculture and forestry.
